THE LITE VERSION OF THE APP STORES A MUCH SMALLER SELECTION OF MUSHROOMS WITHIN ITS DATABASE THAN THE PRO VERSION DESCRIBED BELOW AND ONLY GIVES YOU A TASTER OF THE SOCIAL FEATURES AVAILABLE TO PRO USERS.

Roger’s Mushrooms is based upon the best selling works of Roger Phillips, author of Mushrooms, the worldwide best-selling mushroom and fungi book. The app uses high resolution, zoomable photos that can be accessed in the field with no internet connection. PLEASE NOTE THAT, FOR THIS REASON, THE APP SIZE IS LARGE AND TAKES SOME TIME TO DOWNLOAD. This Lite version is limited to 63 species and can be unlocked with an upgrade to the Pro version containing over 1,600 species.

The Roger’s Mushrooms App is the perfect tool for learning about and identifying mushrooms, and for networking with other mushroom hunters. The app offers the most complete catalogue of wild mushrooms and fungi across Europe and North America, featuring over 2,600 photographs of 1,650 fungi species that have been collected in the wild by renowned mycologist and best selling author Roger Phillips and other senior mycologists from America and Europe. Roger also introduces users to cooking mushrooms and shares some of his favourite mushroom recipes for users to try out.

Users can personalise their experience by adding comments and images throughout the app, and by recording details of the mushrooms they spot on a satellite map. Multiple social features are integrated including being able to engage the wider user group in helping identify mushrooms, and inviting other users on mushroom forays.
No internet connection is needed to access the mushroom database enabling you to identify mushrooms in the field.

Its ok .. Not alot of mushroom choice but still a great app 4 mushroom lovers

You cannot beat the price of this lite version nor the knowledge it contains. Very clean straight forward UI with crisp imagery. While I can see the pictures fine I do wish when clicked you could get a larger view. I will definitely be purchasing the full version of this app!

A great concept of app owners to make a social community of mushroom lovers. I really like sharing and comments and home feed features. Info of mushrooms is awesome. I will recommend it.

Some bad moments

I just downloaded this, and since Im a french speaker, the french version was automatically given to me. I can not insist enough on the importance of a quality translation. If you absolutely want to make your app available in french, please hire a translator, or else stick to english. Machine translation really doesnt cut it, and i dont mean just esthetically. Most of the written content is simply impossible to understand, which, in your field of business, in quite DANGEROUS, as your disclaimer says in its bad french. In your case, its not just a question of respect, ita a question of safety.

1.4 GB download for lite version and unable to access *any* content without creating a login account.

English only...no way to go french. i paid the pro...same thing. lose my money. En anglais seulement...pas daccès au français.

This would be an amazing app if the bugs would be fixed. I just purchased it and cant input information, comments, locations.

Quick summary: 1) You must setup a profile but the system will not allow you to get past that step upon save (tried 4 devices and many attempts) 2) Application is huge - pictures take up a lot of space - could be a major issue for users 3) The developer has created a nightmare with the absolute need to register and/or login. When you are in the field there is no Internet….. As such, a useless application. Same is true with the paid version! More information: Registration or login does not work - we tried to create an ID, login using Facebook and login using Twitter. Regardless of the approach, once we got to the next stage where you HAVE to setup a profile, all failed. No matter WHAT we tried we could not get past the screen. Unnecessary Information: The application makes you put a picture in (but says you don’t have to, but it would not work without it for us. Why? The app also makes you enter your sex - why? It makes you enter your full name - why! User Name, Country, My Language and PREFERRED Language. Why! ? What, I might have 2 language preferences? The application is huge - it takes up 1.5GB on my device. Download was excruciatingly slow too despite good download speed. The old version was svelte compared to this version. They need an option for the image size. No matter that issue - we could never save and proceed to even try the app. Too bad for them since we would have bought 4-5 copies for the Boy Scout Troop. We tried this app and installed on 4 devices to make the problems were not a fluke. D

I Think that this could be a good app but it will not let me purchase the full app, somebody needs to fix that!!
